Nova Burnes
Registered Nurse, Founder
Nova is the founder and owner of Vita Nova Aesthetics. She believes that aesthetics help enhance your natural beauty so that you feel confident and beautiful inside and out. Her attention to detail helps her achieve the most natural result as she listens to your needs and concerns before developing a plan of care.
Nova received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Portland in 1998. Her experience in nursing includes a wide range of specialties: women’s health, community health, critical care, trauma, and teaching. Nova is an active member of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses. She regularly attends continuing education meetings to keep up with the latest techniques in aesthetics.
She has made Maui her home for and enjoys time on the water, dancing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Frances Bacchus
Family Nurse Practitioner
Frances is a board-certified nurse practitioner and skilled aesthetic injector. She began her nursing career 15 years ago as a critical care nurse before earning her masters degree in 2018. Frances enjoys collaborating with her patients in customizing well-rounded treatment plans, and is passionate about enhancing each person’s unique beauty. Her goal with every patient encounter is to build lasting relationships while providing safe, conservative and natural results.
In her free time, Frances enjoys being in nature, reading, doing home projects and spending time with her husband and two children.
Leslie Millen
Registered Nurse
Leslie is known as the Feel Good Fairy. Ever since one of her clients bestowed this nickname on her, she has embraced her role of bringing sunshine, warmth, and a breath of fresh air into every interaction with her clients. Leslie believes that connecting with her clients plays a key role in building trust and confidence to achieve mutually desired results. She has a sharp eye for facial nuance, a keen understanding of anatomy, and a desire for artful aesthetics… all while building relationships along the way.
Leslie Millen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998 from the University of Kentucky. She has worked continuously for the last 25 years and has a wide range of experience in critical care, home health and private duty nursing, case management, clinical quality, and lifestyle medicine. She has expanded into aesthetic nursing and is thrilled to be joining the Vita Nova team.
Sarah Nelson
Registered Nurse
Sarah has served the Maui community as a critical care nurse for over 15 years. She is now joining Vita Nova Aesthetics and practicing a more creative side of nursing as an aesthetic nurse injector. Sarah loves collaborating with clients to create the results they are after.
Dr. Kevin Burnes
Medical Director
Dr. Kevin Burnes is a board certified anesthesiologist who continues to practice on Maui. He is medical director of Vita Nova, and together with his wife Nova Burnes they own and operate the only mobile aesthetic concierge service that is fully licensed and insured on Maui. Dr. Burnes did his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia and went on to medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating in 1997. Dr. Burnes has made Maui his home and enjoys water sports, traveling and spending time with family.
